The Sopori Wash runs through the Ranch and is one of only a few remaining shallow groundwater dependent riparian areas in Pima County. Priority Conservation Areas for the Abert’s Towhee, Bell’s vireo, western yellow-billed cuckoo, cactus ferruginous pygmy-owl, lesser long-nosed bat, Swainson’s hawk and rufous-winged sparrow are present here. Finally, this area is home to an important wildlife linkage between the Cerro Colorado Mountains and Tumacacori Mountains.
