Environmental Day at the Capitol is almost here once again! This is a great opportunity to meet with your legislators, hear from great speakers about environmental justice movements, and connect with others who are doing advocacy work both inside and outside the Arizona Legislature. This year’s theme is “People Power for the Planet!”
- February 11, 8:30AM – 2PM – Environmental Day at the Capitol 2026
- Location: Arizona State Capitol, 1700 W Washington St, Phoenix, AZ
- Please RSVP on Sierra Club’s website for more information
- CSDP is organizing a free bus from Tucson to Phoenix, leaving at 6:30am and returning at ~4:30pm – please RSVP to save a seat. We’ll provide coffee and snacks and you can sit back in comfort with old and new friends on the drive to Phoenix and back.
In the meantime, if you are interested, there will be several workshops available to attend leading up to Environmental Day. These sessions are intended to help people prepare for Environmental Day at the Capitol, but all are welcome!

- January 15, 6PM – Democracy and Voting Rights
- Please join the Arizona Faith Network for an informational presentation on democracy and voting rights. It will include discussion of Arizona legislation and how it could affect how we vote.
- January 22, 6PM – Learn About Climate and Clean Energy
- Please join the Climate Action Cabinet and Vote Solar for an informational presentation on Climate and Clean Energy. It will include information on the status of climate and energy policy in Arizona and discussion of Arizona legislation and how it could affect our energy and climate future.
- January 24 / 24 de enero, 12PM – Spanish Lobby training / Capacitación para el Día de Cabildeo en Español (Virtual)
- Join our Lobby Day training to ensure that YOU are ready to speak to your representatives on Environmental Day! This training will go over the lobbying portion of the day – we will review the lobby meeting agenda, roles and responsibilities of participants, and help you be prepared to share your personal story!
- ¡Únete a nuestra capacitación para el Día de Cabildeo y asegúrate de estar preparado/a para hablar con tus representantes en el Día del Medio Ambiente! Esta capacitación abordará la parte de cabildeo del día: revisaremos la agenda de las reuniones, los roles y responsabilidades de los participantes, y te ayudaremos a prepararte para compartir tu historia personal.
- January 27, 6PM – Centering Environmental Justice
- Please join Chispa Arizona and Mi Familia en Accion for an informational presentation on environmental justice. It will include discussion of Arizona legislation and how it could help better protect our communities.
- January 29, 12PM – Learn About Arizona Water:
- Please join Rural Arizona and Sierra Club for an informational presentation on Arizona Water. It will include information on Arizona water laws and discussion of Arizona legislation and how it could affect our water future.
- February 5, 6pm – 6:45PM – Heat Environmental Day Workshop
- Every year Arizona’s extreme heat becomes more unbearable and challenging to live and work in. A lack of enforceable regulations concerning heat in the workplace threatens workers’ livelihoods.This workshop will cover how extreme heat affects workers across industries, how we can ensure worker health and safety in the workplace, and how different groups are fighting to protect workers in our communities.
- February 6, 6PM – Bills, Bills, Bills 2026!
- Join us to learn more about some of the bills which we are working on this legislative session and specifically for Environmental Day at the Capitol. No prior knowledge is needed. We will go through them in detail and leave lots of time for questions.
