I am honored to work as the Coalition for Sonoran Desert Protection’s Program Manager, where I support the organization’s mission by advancing work on regional conservation policies, planning initiatives, and wildlife connectivity projects across the Sonoran Desert. I help shape land-use and landscape-level planning decisions by collaborating with agency partners, local governments, tribes, community organizations, and residents to promote science-based, ecologically sound outcomes. A key part of my work involves designing and facilitating inclusive public participation processes that elevate community voices in regional planning. I also contribute to community-based campaigns and strategic initiatives that strengthen habitat connectivity and protect the region’s ecological and cultural values.
Before joining the Coalition, I worked at the Center for Natural Resources and Environmental Policy at the University of Montana, where I designed and facilitated inclusive public engagement processes for projects involving federal and state agencies, tribes, local communities, private landowners, and nonprofits. My work included supporting the Lolo National Forest in its Land Management Plan revision and leading public outreach for Montana Fish, Wildlife & Parks’ recreation planning efforts. I also trained Forest Service personnel in public engagement and facilitation to strengthen the agency’s capacity to lead effective internal and public meetings and served as a co-instructor for Practicum in Collaborative Conservation, the capstone course for the Natural Resources Conflict Resolution program.
I hold a B.A. in Ethnomusicology from New York University, an M.S. in Environmental Studies from the University of Montana, and a graduate certificate in Natural Resources Conflict Resolution. In addition to my work at the Coalition, I serve on the National Parks Conservation Association’s National Council. Outside of work, I enjoy fly fishing, trap shooting, curating playlists, and exploring the landscape with my partner and dog.
