After a summer hiatus\, we’ve again joined with a variety of community partners for a new slate of Desert Fence Busters events for the fall and winter months.  \nHOW TO SIGN UP: Head over to the event sign-up page. You will need to create an account with the Arizona Game and Fish volunteer portal (if you don’t have one already) and then sign up for this specific event.  \n1. After navigating to the event sign-up page\, click the “Respond” button in the top right corner. \n2. Click “Sign Up” to create an account and follow the required steps.  \n3. Once your account is created\, including signing the volunteer registration form\, you will be sent back to the main sign-up page. Scroll down below the photo to the section titled “Shifts.”  \n4. SUMMARY:Roadway cleanup by the wildlife crossings
DESCRIPTION:We have adopted Oracle Road / State Route 77 from milepost 83 to 84\, as part of Arizona’s Adopt-A-Highway campaign. This section of the road encompasses one of the wildlife crossings that was recently completed. We want to demonstrate our stewardship for the area with regular highway cleanups. \nWe meet at the parking lot just off Oracle Road on East Vistoso Commerce Loop Road. Driving north on Oracle Road\, turn left on East Vistoso Commerce Loop Road. The parking lot will be your first left and we will meet at the north edge of the lot. \nWe  provide breakfast food\, coffee\, and water to refill your water bottles. We ask that volunteers bring their own reusable water bottles and coffee mugs. \nThis is a great opportunity to check out the crossing locations firsthand and to get all the up-to-date information about the progress of the wildlife crossings! DESCRIPTION:Volunteers from throughout the state\, new and experienced\, will be gathering at the Arizona State Capitol to meet with state legislators to express support for environmental protection. This is a great opportunity to learn and to advocate for what you love. \nThis year’s theme is Water is Life: Creating a Conservation Vision of Arizona’s Water Future\, featuring William deBuys\, author of The Last Unicorn\, Seeing Things Whole\, and A Great Aridness\, among others. He will discuss the implications of climate change on our waters\, what it means for our arid state\, and why it is critical that we act to protect Arizona’s waters. \nEveryone will be part of a team with an experienced leader and will be meeting with his or her own legislators\, whenever possible. You can come for an hour or two or stay all day. It is a great opportunity to learn more about the legislative process and the issues and to make a difference. \nThe Coalition is organizing a charter bus to travel from Tucson to Phoenix.
