DESCRIPTION:A special event as part of Wild Connections Week — Celebrate 10 years of the Sonoran Desert’s first wildlife crossing bridge\, completed in April 2016! Featuring special guests Pima County District 1 Supervisor Rex Scott\, the Town of Oro Valley Mayor Joe Winfield\, and more! \nThis is a rare chance to see and explore Southern Arizona’s only wildlife bridge and hear about its successes. \nWhen: Friday\, April 17\, 6:00 PM -7:30 PM \nWhere: Next to the Ann Day Memorial Wildlife Bridge in the Catalina-Tortolita Mountains wildlife linkage \nWhat: A short walk uphill on gravely terrain to view the top of the wildlife bridge. Celebrate this widely successful bridge with a cake cutting\, a toast\, and with words from special guests. Light refreshments (in addition to cake!) will be provided. \nSign up here!

Stay for however long works for you!  \nWHERE: The Historic Y Courtyard\, 738 N. 5th Avenue \nPARKING: Parking is free on the 5th Avenue block to the west of The Historic Y building. If you are entering from 5th Avenue\, turn left from the lobby and then exit into the courtyard to the right at the end of the hall. SUMMARY:Highway Cleanup
DESCRIPTION:Help us collect trash along our adopted stretch of highway along the I-10 frontage road near Avra Valley Road and the Santa Cruz River wildlife ramp! Gloves\, safety vests\, snacks and drinks\, trash bags\, and pick-up sticks (grabbers) are provided.  More specific information and directions will be sent in an email to all RSVPs. \nPlease RSVP here! \nPlease bring a reusable water bottle and coffee mug. We recommend sun protection and long sleeves/pants. \nThis project is funded in part by the Santa Cruz Valley National Heritage Area. Thank you! \nPhysical requirements: Frequent bending and kneeling\, walking in the sun for prolonged periods\, walking on potentially uneven surfaces. Due to safety and ADOT regulation\, volunteers must be 12 years or older.

SUMMARY:Special Living Lab & Learning Center Tour: Habitat for Desert Creatures
DESCRIPTION:CSDP will be tabling and presenting at the Watershed Management Group’s (WMG) upcoming Living Lab tour.  \nWhen: Saturday May 9\, 2026 8:00 am to 10:00 am \nWhere: Living Lab & Learning Center (Map) \nWMG’s Living Lab and Learning Center is their premier demonstration site for various water harvesting strategies and sustainable living practices for arid landscape living. They meet almost 100% of their water needs with rainwater\, greywater\, and stormwater and grow a lush array of native Sonoran Desert plants. This landscape provides habitat for many animal species\, including a desert tortoise\, hummingbirds\, lizards\, and other desert creatures. \nOn this special Living Lab tour\, learn why our desert animals are important and how vital it is that we humans steward the land and water in the desert to support them. Presenters will share information and resources about how to aid these special and resilient desert creatures. \nBring the kids to enjoy the Raindrop Retreat – a children’s playhouse featuring a rain tank\, play kitchen with greywater\, and sandbox.  \nThe tour takes place outside\, so be prepared to be standing and/or walking for over an hour and in all weather. \nSign up here!
